The "holiday season" by most reckoning begins with Thanksgiving (United States) and extends through New Year's Day. It includes such holidays as Yule, Hanukkah, Kwanzaa, Thanksgiving, Christmas, Boxing Day, St. Nicholas Day, Epiphany, the Winter Solstice, Hogmanay, and Pancha Ganapati (among others). Some even consider the "holiday season" to start as far back as Halloween, and to also include Guy Fawkes Night and even the Chinese Lantern Festival.
With this in mind, how can anyone be offended at a simple holiday greeting like "Happy Holidays"?
