McCain-Palin (like Bush-Cheney) presumes to be above the law

Alaskan Gov. Sarah Palin will not cooperate with a "tainted" legislative investigation into the firing of her public safety commissioner, the McCain-Palin campaign announced Monday, accusing supporters of Democratic rival Barack Obama of manipulating the probe for political motivations.

Just like Bush-Cheney, the McCain-Palin ticket is already putting itself above the law. How many times over the past 8 years has Bush invoked "executive privilege" or insisted testimony be off the record? How many times over the past 8 years has the Bush Administration blatantly acted as if it were above the law?

And it's shaping up to be the same with the would-be McCain administration. The issues with Sarah Palin in Alaska just serve to underscore why the choice of the Alaska governor was a serious error in judgment on the part of the GOP nominee, and raises serious questions about the fitness of McCain to be President, when it seems he just wants to continue the culture of cronyism and corruption that pervades the Bush Administration.
