Political smears reach an all new low

I'm a self-avowed liberal and a committed Democrat. But when I read Powerline's post about Coleen Rowley's doctored photo of Congressman John Kline, I was furious.

She will never receive any support from me, monetary or otherwise. Congressman Kline's response to her was dead on...her attack was disgusting, and an insult to anyone who has ever served in uniform and to all who suffered at the hands of the Nazis.

The entry in question has had the photo removed, though the original can be seen in a screenshot here. It was not personally written by Ms. Rowley, but had the following statement on the top (both before and after the offending photo):

I support this excellent blog written by one of our best volunteers!

And it has the statement "Comments and Commentary from Coleen" at the top as well.

I'm sorry, but allowing that sort of thing to go in one's campaign blog is despicable. Rep. Kline deserves an apology, and Ms. Rowley should frankly be very, very ashamed. She'd never get my support after a stunt like that.
